On September 4th, my sister Lauren was diagnosed with colon cancer. It was totally crushing news, to say the least. The first month was filled with doctor’s appointments, blood tests, scans, and tears—followed by 30 rounds of radiation with oral chemo, then 6 rounds of two-day infusion chemotherapy.
It’s been a long road, but Lauren has kept the most amazing attitude and determination every step of the way. It has been incredibly tough, but she is tougher.
One of her hopes in sharing her story publicly is to encourage others to listen to their bodies. Advocate for yourself if something doesn’t feel right. Go to your annual doctor’s appointments and screenings—it’s all so important.
We are beyond grateful for all the prayers, thoughts, and good vibes you have sent—and continue to send. 💙
