Most of you already know that I've been navigating a colorectal cancer diagnosis recently (chemo, treatment, all of it). It's been a lot, and the support around me, my wife, my kids, my coworkers, and my whole community, have been truly humbling!
This walk is part of how I stay in motion through treatment. It also happens to be for a cause I believe in. Colorectal cancer is one of those things people tend to avoid talking about. That reluctance has real consequences. It's the second deadliest cancer, and estimates show that 1 in 3 adults over 45 aren't being screened the way they should be. The lifetime risk is 1 in 25. Those are numbers that move when people pay attention, get screened, and support the organizations doing the work locally.
The Colon Cancer Coalition puts donations directly toward screening, education, awareness, and support in our community. It's the kind of impact you can actually trace.
If you want to come walk with me, I'd genuinely love the company. If you'd rather donate from wherever you are, that means just as much. Either way, thank you for being in my corner through all of this.
