Clay’s Clan was formed in honor of our friend Clay, who is courageously battling colon cancer. Clay is a true Beech Mountain local, steady, strong, and deeply rooted in this community.

His fight is fierce, and so is his spirit. Watching him navigate this season of life has reminded all of us what resilience truly looks like. Standing beside him every step of the way is his wife, Jackie. Her strength, advocacy, and unwavering love have been nothing short of inspiring. The way she pushes for him and supports him through every appointment, every decision, and every hard day is powerful.

Clay may not love the cold weather, but this mountain is home. It has been hard not having him here as much, and we miss him. This team skis and rides in support of him, beside him, and because of him.

Our hope is that we get to celebrate together at this event, with Clay right there in the middle of it all. Until then, we continue to show up, fundraise, and fight alongside him.
