My name is Fuad Khoury and I'm captaining this team. This cause is deeply personal as I am a colon cancer survivor myself. In 2025 I was diagnosed with stage IIIb colon cancer and underwent a partial colon resection. In January 2026, I completed my twelfth and final cycle of chemotherapy and was declared cancer free!

During this journey I was fortunate to be supported my family, friends, and colleagues who will be part of this team. Our team is proud to be made up of members of the Hospital Medicine division at Henry Ford Hospital among others. Every day we care for patients and their families, and we see firsthand how important prevention, early detection, and strong support systems are in the fight against cancer.

The journey continues and has strengthened our commitment to raising awareness about screening and supporting research that can save lives.

We’re participating in this 5K to honor survivors, support those currently fighting, remember those we’ve lost, and help build a future where fewer families are affected by colon cancer. Thank you for supporting our team and helping us take steps—literally and figuratively—toward that goal.
