Friends, as a Stage IIIB colon cancer survivor, this cause is personally important to me and the members of my family I thank you for visiting my page and considering a donation. And please be sure to read the P.S. at the end!
Welcome to my fundraising page - where I'm 'getting my rear in gear' to support local efforts to combat colorectal cancer!
JOIN ME in supporting the Colon Cancer Coalition / Get Your Rear in Gear to make an impact in my community. Your dollars go towards efforts that have long lasting impact on screening, education and awareness, support, and research. Your dollars = direct, local impact.
DID YOU KNOW? Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer, and estimates state that 1 in 3 adults ages 45+ are NOT being screened as recommended. There is a 1 IN 25 lifetime risk for developing colorectal cancer (1 in 23 for men, 1 in 26 for women).
Together, we can help change these numbers. Join me and the movement to impact my local community.
P.S. - Thank you so much for considering a donation to support me, and a special thank you to all of you who make a donation of any size. The donor who contributes the most has the opportunity to decide how I wear my beard for the walk. I will shave it as instructed provided it is not offensive. Embarrassing, fine. Just not offensive. My family also will match that highest contribution (up to $1,000). Deadline is Friday, February 27th at noon EST so I can get the instructions and Emily can shave my face as instructed that evening. She doesn’t know about that part yet.
